HOW TO START THE COURSE

Help fellow students to know God and make Him known on campus and in every public sphere. Discipleship is incomplete if it's for private faith alone; it must include outreach. Discipleship is about saving souls AND discipling nations. To do that, we must to do more than save souls; we must also save the university by preparing students to be witnesses in every kind of faithful work.

The UDC is a life-changing on-campus program that combines YWAM's teachings on intimate friendship with God and Christ's Mission to every nation and vocation. It's designed to be student-led. You and your student fellowship will focus on a love for God’s Word; revelation of God’s calling and purpose; a biblical worldview; the character of God; intercession for the nations; hearing God’s voice; spiritual warfare; the justice of God; and your role in Christ’s Church and His Mission.

HERE’S HOW TO GET STARTED:

STEP ONE: PRAY WITH TWO OR MORE.
STEP ONE: PRAY WITH TWO OR MORE.

Ask God what breaks His heart on your campus. Meet with one or more believers to share your vision for the UNIVERSITY DISCIPLESHIP (UDC) COURSE. If two or more agree in prayer, then you can take the next step together in faith. We are here to help.

STEP TWO: RESOURCES AND TEAM.
STEP TWO: RESOURCES AND TEAM.

Our online UDC leaders’ course includes basic instructions and resources to help you get started. It includes a flexible curriculum and job descriptions for a student-led team. After you have decided to run the UDC, call a meeting and invite volunteers to take leadership responsibilities, such as Emcee, Prayer, Worship, Hospitality, Social Media, Photography, Tech, Bookkeeping, Local and International Outreach.

STEP THREE: SET SCHEDULE AND MEETING PLACE.
STEP THREE: SET SCHEDULE AND MEETING PLACE.

The curriculum is flexible, so you may plan on a minimum of 7, or up to 12 weekly meetings. Meeting times may be from 6:30 to 9:30 PM for shorter courses, or 7 to 9 PM for longer courses.
We think it’s best if you are part of a Student Organization, so you can reserve meeting space on campus. Plan ahead. If you’re not with a Student Org, get a few students together, seek out a Christian faculty advisor, and form a student org on campus. It’s easy. And with it, you have the right and privilege of reserving a meeting room for the UDC on campus.

STEP FOUR: SPEAKERS
STEP FOUR: SPEAKERS

Speakers in the UDC are those who bring core training instruction and application from your local community. Invite local pastors, marketplace ministers, and christian faculty members to speak on the list of topics provided. One of YWAM’s Foundational Values is “First Do, Then Teach.”Not all speakers will be familiar with YWAM’s original Discipleship Training School, however they should be encouraged to teach from experience. We can help you choose speakers.
